Reed & Barton Victorian Silverplate Coffee Urn Samovar Grape Vine Pattern 1950

This is for 1 antique Victorian Reed & Barton footed coffee urn / samovar in pattern #1950. Beautiful grape clusters and trailing vines decorate this impressive piece, with flowing curved legs, ornate handles, and a decorative working spigot.

The sculptural form makes a wonderful focal point for a buffet or dining table, recalling the grand coffee service of Victorian banquets and gatherings. It would also make a lovely vase for a floral centerpiece or an eye-catching display on a side table.

This American-made urn is believed to date to circa the 1860s. The number 1950 identifies the pattern and is not the production date. It is also marked "16," indicating a capacity of 16 cups, or approximately 128 ounces.

Measurements:
Approximately 18 × 11 × 9 inches overall.

The urn has a silver-plated finish over a base-metal composition; the exact underlying metal is unconfirmed.

***The silver plating on the lid has worn away, exposing the underlying metal, which has been polished and retains a darker silver tone. Please review the photographs for the finish and condition details.***

The interior has cleaned up very well. The spigot operates and shuts off. No burner is included.

This distinctive antique piece has been polished and is ready to display and enjoy for years to come.

This is placed on a 12 inch diameter silver plated tray to round out the serving piece.
