This is for a beautiful Reed & Barton Francis I Sterling Silver Sandwich plate. One of the most celebrated and collectible American sterling silver patterns, Francis I was introduced in 1907 and is renowned for its lavish Baroque and Rococo styling inspired by 16th-century European design.
This elegant round sandwich plate features the richly detailed Francis I motif with abundant scrolling fruit, flowers, leaves, and deep repoussé ornamentation surrounding the rim. This is a beautiful serving plate, centerpiece, fruit holder, or display piece for a sterling silver collection.
This piece measures approximately 11.5 inches in diameter x 3/4 inches tall and weighs 553 grams.
The underside is marked Reed & Barton Sterling, Francis I, the quality mark, date mark of 1955, and pattern number X569, confirming its authenticity.
This is in wonderful vintage condition with light age-appropriate wear and has been polished and is ready to use or display. It will make a stunning addition to a Francis I collection or an elegant heirloom to enjoy for generations.
Please note that all items in my shop are vintage, antique, or previously loved and may show gentle signs of age and use consistent with vintage condition. Any significant flaws or condition issues beyond normal wear will always be noted in the description and photographs.
