Antique Cast Iron Parrot Doorstop Painted Cockatoo Bird Door Stop 14" Home Decor

This is for a wonderful antique cast iron parrot doorstop featuring a beautifully painted cockatoo perched upon a tree branch. Richly colored and full of personality, this striking decorative piece is an excellent example of early cast iron animal doorstop craftsmanship.

Standing approximately 14 inches tall and measuring 5 inches wide by 5 inches deep, this impressive bird displays vibrant shades of yellow, orange, red, green, and black. The detailed sculpting captures the cockatoo's distinctive crest feathers, curved beak, and alert expression, giving the piece a lifelike presence and wonderful visual appeal.

The bright original-style painted finish remains exceptionally attractive and appears to have been very well cared for throughout the years. Unlike many antique doorstops that show heavy wear from decades of use, this example appears to have spent much of its life as a decorative collector's piece rather than serving daily as a functional doorstop.

The cast iron construction provides substantial weight while the colorful finish makes it equally suitable as a decorative sculpture, shelf display, library accent, conservatory decoration, or addition to a collection of antique animal figures.

There are a few age-appropriate tiny paint chips on the base consistent with its age, but overall the piece presents beautifully and retains excellent color and detail.

This is in wonderful antique condition with minor age-related wear and makes a charming addition to any collection of antique doorstops, cast iron décor, bird collectibles, or tropical-themed decorative arts.
