Vintage Wicker Elephant Box Mid Century Lidded Basket Storage Decor

This is for a wonderful vintage, Shanghi Handicrafts, Mid-Century elephant box that combines whimsical charm with beautiful handcrafted artistry. Expertly woven from tightly woven natural wicker and finished with a protective lacquer coating, this unique decorative piece serves as both a sculpture and a functional storage container.

The elephant's back features a removable lid that opens to reveal a smoothly finished interior compartment, making it perfect for storing small treasures, keepsakes, sewing supplies, jewelry, remote controls, or other household items. The craftsmanship and attention to detail make this a delightful decorative accent as well as a useful storage piece.

Adding to its character, the tusks and feet are crafted from stained wood, creating a lovely contrast against the woven wicker body. The expressive eyes are made from a different material, giving the elephant a lifelike appearance and making it seem as though it is watching you from across the room.

This charming elephant retains its original sticker on the underside of one foot, further adding to its vintage appeal.
