Antique Victoria Austria Porcelain Plate Cherubs Ruby Red Gold Gilt Classical Scene

This is for a beautiful Antique Victoria Austria Porcelain Decorative Plate, dating to approximately 1900-1920. The plate has a very faint and worn Victoria Austria mark on the reverse, consistent with its considerable age.

The center features an elaborate classical / gallant-style scene with muses and cherubs, surrounded by an ornate ruby-red border with richly detailed gold gilt decoration. The combination of the figural scene, deep ruby color and elaborate gilding gives this plate a wonderful turn-of-the-century European appearance.

The decoration is attributed / signed Carl Larsson. Because the attribution has not been independently authenticated, it is being described as attributed rather than guaranteed as a work by the artist.

This measures: approximately 10 inches in diameter.

This beautiful antique porcelain plate would make a striking display piece in a china cabinet, on a plate stand or as part of a collection of antique Austrian and European porcelain.

The plate is in wonderful antique condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There is some fading and wear to the gold gilt consistent with its age. Please review the photos carefully for the gilt wear, faint backstamp and overall condition.

Please note that all items in my shop are vintage, antique, or previously loved and may show gentle signs of age and use consistent with vintage condition. Any significant flaws or condition issues beyond normal wear will always be noted in the description and photographs.
