Antique Rococo Revival Gilt Wood Wall Sconces Pair Floral Candle Holders

This is for an exceptional pair of antique hand-carved giltwood wall sconces believed to have been crafted in Italy. These large and impressive wall-mounted candle holders measure approximately 16.5 inches long and each sconce holds two taper candles, making them stunning statement pieces for any interior.

Expertly hand carved from wood, the sconces feature graceful scrolling forms and rich gilt decoration that reflect the beauty and craftsmanship associated with antique Italian décor. Each candle arm retains its metal candle cup insert designed to securely hold taper candles.

These sconces display their age proudly, with areas of worn gilt finish, candle wax residue from years of use, and some warping of the wood consistent with their age and history. The small antique nails visible on the reverse where the candle arms were attached to the main body further attest to their age and handcrafted construction. There is also some separation shown where arms are attached. Please note pictures for issues.
