Vintage Art Deco Brass Peacock Fireplace Screen Folding Fan Screen

This is for a wonderful vintage Art Deco brass peacock fireplace screen, an elegant folding fan screen that is as decorative as it is functional. Whether displayed fully open in front of a fireplace or folded closed as a sculptural accent, this impressive piece is sure to become a conversation starter.

The screen features a beautifully detailed peacock fan design with intricate filigree cutwork that reflects light beautifully. Each side is adorned with a striking raised Art Deco lady motif, a design more commonly found on large decorative hand fans, making this fireplace screen an unusual and highly collectible example.

Adding to its dramatic appearance is an ornate dragon-form finial handle, which serves as both a decorative element and carrying handle. The combination of the Art Deco female figures, dragon handle, and peacock fan creates a wonderful blend of Art Deco, Neoclassical, Hollywood Regency, and vintage glamour.

The screen folds closed for storage and secures in the closed position, making it easy to move or display when not in use.

Condition:
This vintage fireplace screen is in very nice condition. There is some bending to a few of the fan blades when the screen is closed, which is not noticeable when it is fully opened for display. In addition, one interior blade has been reinforced with a wire near the handle. The reinforcement is discreet and not visible unless specifically inspected, and it does not affect the function or display of the screen.

The brass has a lacquered finish, helping it retain its beautiful golden color with minimal maintenance.
