This is for an extraordinary and exceedingly rare 3-piece antique Venetian art glass garniture set attributed to Salviati and decorated by Moser in the celebrated Canine and Foliate pattern. Handcrafted in Italy during the 1890s, these museum-quality pieces beautifully combine Venetian glassmaking with the renowned enamel and gilding artistry of the Moser workshops in Bohemia.

The matching set consists of two exceptionally tall candlesticks and one footed octagonal centerpiece bowl, all lavishly hand painted with colorful enamel decorations and rich gold accents. The distinctive Canine and Foliate design features graceful running dogs (sometimes described as prancing deer), intertwined with elegant scrolling foliage in soft aqua blue-green enamel, inspired by a 16th-century Spanish decorative motif.

Measurements:
Footed Octagonal Centerpiece Bowl:
7 1/2 inches tall x 9 1/2 inches wide
Matching Candlesticks (2):
Approximately 13 1/4 inches tall each

Included:
1 Footed Octagonal Centerpiece Bowl
2 Matching Tall Candlesticks

Each piece is individually handcrafted, resulting in the subtle variations in the glass that are characteristic of fine antique Venetian production. Together, they create an exceptional display that is equally at home in a museum-quality collection, elegant dining room, or grand entryway.

Condition:
These pieces are in wonderful antique condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. As expected for pieces well over 100 years old, there is age-appropriate wear to portions of the gilding, which is consistent with authentic antique examples and does not detract from their remarkable beauty or rarity.
Historical Background

Antonio Salviati played a pivotal role in reviving the Venetian glass industry during the late 19th century after it had declined in prominence compared to English and Bohemian glassmaking. In 1877, he established his own glassworks on the island of Murano, producing exceptional hand-blown Venetian glass.

The Canine and Foliate pattern was designed by Ludwig Moser, drawing inspiration from a 16th-century Spanish decorative motif. The glass blanks were handcrafted by Salviati in Venice before being sent to the Moser workshops in Bohemia, where skilled artisans meticulously hand applied the colorful enamel decoration and rich gilding. This collaboration between two of Europe's greatest glassmakers produced some of the most desirable and collectible art glass of the late Victorian era.

This remarkable garniture set represents an exceptional opportunity to own an authentic example of late 19th-century Venetian and Bohemian artistry. It will undoubtedly become the centerpiece of any serious collection and be treasured for generations to come.
