Antique Brass Gargoyle Fireplace Screen - Peacock Fan Design

This is for a wonderful Vintage Solid English brass Gargoyle "peacock fan" fireplace screen. The fan would be from the late 1800's to early 1900's. I have sold many fireplace fans and this is one style that I have never come across!! It is very heavy and solid and NOT one of the mass produced newer pieces (from the 70's / 80's) that are more commonly for sale.

*** The beauty and stately design of this piece can't compare to the mass produced ones that are commonly for sale, as the brass is much cheaper, lighter in weight and not nearly as ornate ***

What makes this is so special and RARE is the combination of Being very old and in the Gargoyle design, usually the older ones are in Victorian styled designs.

This looks lovely open and yet still very decorative when sitting closed. This lovely piece has an ornate design and is two sided with a Vintage styled raised large Gargoyle mounted on the front and the back. It also is adorned with a Finial / handle on the top for carrying it. This antique piece is heavy with a weight of 15.5 lbs.

This folding screen can be closed and locked when not in use and or to store with the hooks on the side. The intricate detail of the filigree cut-out screen creates an amazing reflection and is very light catching.

The fan has an Art Deco, Neoclassical, Hollywood Regency feel to the design. The total height with the handle is 30 inches tall (23 inches tall without the final / handle) and the fan when open has a width of 39.5 inches when open and the base is 7 inches deep (which is much deeper than the more modern ones.

Please use great care when opening and closing this and don't let the blades just fall out of the sides.

This one has been meticulously cleaned to bring it back to its original state. The fan blades are so unique in the way they were cut with such details on the ends of the blades. There is a lot of craftsmanship shown in this item.

This item is sure to please and will be loved for many years to come.

This is polished and will gain a patina over time.
