Antique French Brass Church Hanging Lantern Cherub Sanctuary Lamp or Planter

This listing is for a wonderful and exceptionally rare antique solid brass Church/Sanctuary hanging lamp, beautifully crafted in the Baroque / Renaissance Revival style. Richly ornamented and displaying outstanding craftsmanship, this impressive ecclesiastical piece dates to the 19th century and was most likely made in France, based on its construction and styling.

The hanging lantern measures approximately:
15 inches in diameter
14.5 inches deep (to the bottom of the decorative acorn finial)
38-inch hanging chain
52.5 inches total hanging length

The body is adorned with three beautifully cast cherubs alternating with three richly embossed decorative panels, each individually secured from the interior with screws, reflecting the exceptional quality of its construction.

An etched inventory or production number, Z402198, appears on the inside of the lower rim.

Originally created as a church or sanctuary hanging lamp, this versatile piece can also be repurposed as a dramatic decorative lantern. It would beautifully display a liner with a candle, LED or battery-operated candles, a hanging floral arrangement, or cascading greenery while serving as an extraordinary focal point in a foyer, great room, covered patio, or garden room.

The brass has been professionally polished to highlight its remarkable detail and will naturally develop a warm patina over time if desired.
